One of Colorado’s premier black-tie charity events, the 41st annual Children’s Gala took place at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. The event brought together generous donors, courageous patients and devoted caregivers for an incredible evening that raised a $2.4 million for the hospital.

With the help of donors, Children’s Hospital Colorado is making transformative improvements to the state of pediatric mental health.

It is a common misconception that people struggling with eating disorders can be “scared into recovery.” In fact, the opposite is true. It took five weeks in the eating disorder unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado and years of treatment for me to realize this.

While kids like Mikey are battling leukemia, researchers struggle to secure funding for critical pediatric cancer research that could save Mikey's life, and the lives of other children with cancer. Thanks to donor support, a new treatment was developed that gives 3-year-old Mikey a chance.

I was diagnosed with a rare, stage-4 cancer known as Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS). This cancer was found in my pelvis, and I was told I had less than a 10% chance of survival. When I was diagnosed, I thought it was the end of the world.
