Brianna is a 2018 Patient Ambassador for Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. In third grade, she was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis, a condition that causes the spine to curve. Brianna’s case was so severe that she had to undergo spinal fusion surgery this year. In her guest blog, she shares how she overcame the many challenges that come with scoliosis.

On Feb. 16, 2018, Children’s Colorado patients, team members and leaders joined the team from GE Johnson Construction Company for a special “topping out” ceremony. The crowd applauded as it watched the raising of a steel beam to the final and highest floor of the future Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs, set to open in spring 2019.
