COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 2, 2019) – Generous supporters gathered on April 26 for a festive fundraising event benefiting patients and families of Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Balloon Ball, presented by GE Johnson Construction Company, took place at the not-yet-opened Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs. The event brought together nearly 750 generous donors, courageous patients and devoted caregivers for an incredible evening that raised more than $1 million for the hospital.

The sold-out event included an exclusive sneak peek of the hospital’s key clinical departments, which highlighted the family-centered care environment. The hospital, which is set to be fully open in mid-2019, includes the region’s only pediatric Emergency Department, Surgery Center and Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

As the only comprehensive nonprofit children’s hospital in a seven-state region, Children’s Colorado relies on community support to provide excellent, family-centered care to every child who needs it. Balloon Ball celebrated increased access to pediatric care for families in southern Colorado and the generous donors and community partners who’ve made this possible.

The event honored GE Johnson Construction Company and their Kid of the Quarter program. As Children's Colorado's construction partner and event presenting sponsor, GE Johnson Construction Company was thanked for its longtime community partnership and personal approach to honoring patients and their families throughout the construction of the new hospital.

“We’re grateful to the generous donors who joined us at Balloon Ball to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado’s expanding presence in southern Colorado,” said Jen Darling, President and CEO of Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. “The event demonstrated the passion and commitment of this community in supporting the health and healing of the region’s kids.”
