Community event raises funds for region’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, asks community to share inspiration for climbing over 2,700 steps
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Mar. 15, 2018) – Southern Colorado kids and families are readying to tackle 2,700 steps as registration opens for Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation’s fourth annual Climb for Courage stair climb race and family festival, presented by GE Johnson.
What: Climb for Courage Stair Climb Race and Family Festival
When: Sat., Jun. 23, 2018
Time: 8:30 a.m. – noon
Where: U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium
This year’s race offers free registration to the Fun Climb for kids 12 and younger with a registered adult or guardian. A free family festival, including interactive games, food and fun is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to the community.
Southern Colorado kids deserve the best care, closer to home. Funds from the event will directly benefit the new Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs, set to open in 2019.
“With each step, participants play a role in transforming pediatric health care for southern Colorado kids,” said Jenny Stafford, Philanthropy Director, Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. “We all climb for a reason – a child, a breakthrough, a passion, a healthier tomorrow. As we move toward June 23, we hope the community will share their inspiration for climbing to help lift us all.”
